This Crosman 2240 has been modified to make it perform great and feel nice and well balanced with a pleasant trigger due to a full trigger group polish job. Chambered in .177 cal with a 10.1" barrel instead of stock .22. Bolt spring has been trimmed to allow for more shots per cart, adjusted for .177. See below for detailed breakdown of customizations. Only 1 cart run through the gun to test, shoots great.
NOTE: This airgun does not come with a rear sight, so you will have to add either an optic or something like a Crosman LPA MIM or Williams sight. Works great with little red dot reflex sight.
Detailed list of modifications:
10.1" .177 Barrel: Stock 2240 comes with a 7.5" barrel in .22 caliber. This barrel is .177 cal and 10.1". This longer barrel will give you a higher pellet speed and increased accuracy. The .177 cal will give you an additional speed bump and resultant flatter trajectory. Hammer spring is modified for .177 and delivers more shots per cart.
Steel Breech: with 3/8" Dovetail mount for accepting optics such as red dot sights or scopes.
Extended bolt probe + fatty silver handle: Extended probe pushes the pellet a little farther into the barrel, clearing the transfer port so that all of the air gets directed behind the pellet and not into it.
Suppressor:Reduce the sound of this airgun dramatically. Suppressed, these really can be shot just about anywhere without causing suspicion, even inside a garage. Mostly all that is heard with this option is the action of the hammer; the compressed air "snap" virtually cannot be heard.
Trigger group polish: Thorough polish job on every moving part of the trigger group for a trigger that breaks like glass with a pull weight reduced by well over half to more of a target style level.
Wax breech: A wax coating over the breech screw well leads to perfect, smooth, damage free pellet loading, every time where otherwise pellets can catch and damage during loading.
Factory clean & lube: Factory gunk has been cleaned out of the barrel
